Sequence accession no. 16S rRNA gene: AB364234, complete chromosome: CP002347, plasmid pCALNI01: CP002348. (Medium 1112, 55°C, anaerobic). Cultures turn pink at the beginning of stationary phase due to the formation of nitrite which induces a color change of the redox indicator resazurin to pink. In this growth phase cultures are sensitive to lysis and have to be transferred to fresh medium quickly.
